Simple Drywall Patch, No Tape, No Screen, No Nails

[nggallery id=1]Having to patch a fist sized hole on plaster or drywall without studs or backing is a simple process of using a scrap piece of drywall and all purpose drywall mud, or joint compound, we’ll call it ‘mud’, ‘all purpose’, or ‘topping’ from here.

We had to put a 2 inch plumbing vent stack in the wall and the hole in the plaster ceiling ended up a bit to big with no wood framing to screw to, no problem with this simple method of drywall / plaster repair. This area is about 2 x 4 inches, but this method will work up to a size of about 8 x 8 inches.  See pics here
